Sunagakure Village Information

Many a decades have gone by since the last time someone mentioned the way of the Ninja. And since then the world of man has known peace, but it was not without consequences and sacrifices. Peace was something that could only ever be obtained by spilling blood. Mankind are often too used to the fact that spilling the blood of their brethren was a necessity. As such the concept of true peace was nothing but a fleeting illusion. A thing to be pursued but never once can it be obtained because of the greed and desires of mankind. The understanding between the human kind and their kin was only momentarily, since self interest and ultimate control was often their downfall. They were like crabs captured in a barrel ready to be sold for another man’s supper. And like any crab in a situation like this, it was only natural for them to climb and pull the other down. They often saw to their own escape by standing on the shoulders of their own. The world of the Shinobi and those whom deem themselves to be as such was no different.

However mankind was capable of evolving, and with each evolution their way of thinking would become far more sinister than it was before. Then came about the predicament that Sunagakure found itself in at the time. The way of the Shinobi was becoming more and more obsolete, with the modern era seeking to stray away from these basic laws and principles. The way of the Ninja was seen as a long term threat to the order that promoted peace. The Ninja and their practices soon became vilified and certain groups arose to do away with it. Sunagakure like most villages found themselves in a similar predicament too. The other nations had become rather close nit in the sense that only a few were being allowed to practice the way of the Ninja. Those without a special bloodline limit were given favour compared to those with a special bloodline trait. In time the ruling government with the permission of the daimyo approved the extinction of those with a Kekkei Genkai. A thing which threatened to plunge the world into darkness.

With the world becoming the way it was, a chosen unit lead by men with ulterior motives sought out and committed heinous acts against those with a Kekkei Genkai. However, these unfortunate men and women had no idea what was about to befall them. The plans were carried out in secret, as whole clans were slaughtered and without mercy. When most of the Sunagakure bloodline limits were almost extinct. The coup was made public, and so with control of information and mind control. The public at large were made to view those with a Kekkei Genkai as terrorists. Those whom decided to go against the will of this new ruling government were also put to the sword. With only a few clans remaining to fight the good fight against the tyranny of these men. The so called outlaws of the lands banded together, and decided to take on the government. Sunagakure’s Ninja forces had become militarized and only those with special permission could become part of it all. Unknown to the rebellious few over, the daimyo was being controlled and was merely a puppet in the whole thing. Clans were either forced to assimilate themselves with the village. Or be cast out, murdered without any trial whatsoever. They were all viewed as guilty and as such would be shown no mercy at all.

There was one man who could not allow any of this to carry on without putting his gifts to good use. Raiden Nagare, a prodigy of the Nagare clan  rose to prominence during a decade of mass murder and petty wars. Raiden and his clansmen were the victims of the bloodline cleansing. An act which prompted the man to take action against the evil that had also befell his own clan. The Nagare clan mainly resided on the outskirts of Sunagakure and Konohagkure. But were loyal to Sunagakure despite having ties with Konoha. After the murder of his parents and his youngest sibling. Raiden was perhaps consumbed by rage, giving birth to a new found power. It is said that the Shinobi himself had a vision, a dream that was to become reality. Raiden was visited in his dreams by a strange figure, that till this day remains unknown to him. However this figure gave Raiden purpose and belief in his self. Raiden soon discovered that there was a hidden hand at work, the mastermind behind the whole ordeal. The Shinobi gathered all the remaining clans of Sunagakure that decided to fight by his side. This included both the bloodline clans and the non bloodline clans. In the eyes of Raiden all Shinobi should be viewed the same and be treated with the same respect. He wasn’t naïve enough to preach peace. His way was simple, you were either with him or against him. A young Raiden Nagare commanded a force of potent angry and motivated Shinobi. With this skills being put to use, he was soon becoming legendary among the folks of Sunagakure. His legend and status grew to the point where he was referred to as a demon. His name was made tabooed on the lips of those who would dare to speak in the presence of the ruling government. Those who were brave enough to do it, were slaughtered in public. The people of Sunagakure soon realized that they were being controlled by fear. And that the rule of the government was cruel and no within their best interest. The common folk soon began to voice their displeasure with more and more becoming renegades, each seeking to join Raiden’s band of demons and heroes. By this point in time, the way of the Shinobi was almost lost and as such they were becoming a dying breed. Raiden was born during the time of the cleansing starting to take place. And it grew with the support of the daimyo and other things to influence it. By the time he was old enough to know the warmth of his woman’s bosoms. He was constantly fighting for this life. But all of that would change.

For a good few years Raiden battled the government, the military faction of murders. The young man now a skillful and feared Shinobi found ways to infiltrate the government’s inner core. He was given the opportunity to battle their leader and he took it. The leader was a man known as Matsumoto Arashi. Matsumoto was nothing more than a talentless Shinobi and a man most jealous of those with more skill than he had. A complex individual, who sought out the different bloodlines and harvested them, and created a powerful army, that was loyal to him only. Needless to say Matsumoto Arashi didn’t die, he was instead sealed away after becoming severely weakened. His battle against Raiden and his army took a toll on him. And while Raiden dealt what seemed to be the final blow. Arashi meddling with the bloodlines had made him almost indestructible. And as such they had to settle on sealing the tyrant, where he now remains under the protection of a dedicated group of Shinobi. The protection was not for Arashi’s benefit, it was for those who would seek to release this bastard.

With the dawning of a new era as they saw, the long and cruel nights were over. And Raiden took the position of the Kazekage and was considered the Shodaime Kazekage of the new generation. He will now oversee the resurrection of the Shinobi way, while remaining vigilant of those who would seek to disturb the peace. Clans that were almost extinct began a rebuilding process, but it will take a while yet before anything is seen as the norm.

Sunagakure Village Layout

Sunagakure Latest?cb=20150129135732

Sunagakure (砂隠れの里, Sunagakure no Sato, Literally meaning: Village Hidden by Sand) is the hidden village of the Land of Wind. As the village of one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries, Sunagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Kazekage, of which there have been five in its history. Being surrounded by desert offers the village a natural deterrent against invasion, as few foreign powers would be willing to endure the sandstorms and water scarcity common to Suna. Sunagakure itself lies in a fortified valley behind cliffs of rock, with passage in and out of the village restricted to a single cleft between two cliff faces, making the area very hard to attack from the ground. The buildings inside seem to be made of clay or stucco, which would help to keep the buildings cool.

The village itself is separated into eight different sections, and from an aerial vantage point. It resembles a pie sliced into eight pieces with the Kazekage's buildings being in the centre of the village and is also one of its highest points. There are different districts with various organizations and establishment inside the village also. Security is also very tight inside the village.

Suna Aviary: The Suna Aviary is a building located in Sunagakure where messenger birds such as hawks, deliver messages and rest. The building houses a number of cages where Sunagakure houses their messenger hawks. The messages the birds transport are encrypted with special seals to prevent anyone except the intended target to be able to decipher. The are four aviary buildings located throughout the village and at strategic points too. This helps the village to relay messages at a much faster rate and more effectively.

Sunagakure Hospital:

The Suna Hospital (砂病院, Suna Byōin, Literally meaning: Sand Hospital) is a large spherical building located in the middle of Sunagakure that bears the kanji for "doctor". The building houses a small clinic, which is used to perform check ups and examine patients. The hospital houses a large operation room which serve to allow medical-nin to perform surgery on the critically injured. The medical-nin also have access to a large, green room, which contains a number of medical herbs that would normally not be capable of growing in the hot, desert climate

Suna Greenhouse:

The Suna Greenhouse is a large glass building located in Sunagakure. The greenhouse contains a wide variety of rare medical herbs that medical-nin can use to create antidotes. The greenhouse has its own unique climate which allow shinobi to grow rare medical herbs that could not typically survive in the harsh, desert climate. The medical-nin who work at the Suna Hospital have free access to the storehouse allowing for quick treatment for injured allies.

There are other unmentioned locations inside the village that are of significant importance.
